I had to follow up with a review, because the staff really went above and beyond for my family. We did the all-you-can eat deal for the soup kitchen that held a charity event at Buddy's. We were promptly seated and waited on. We ordered a couple pizzas, a salad and a couple beverages. about 10 minutes into the meal, the kids were getting restless, with one starting to not feel good. (He had been battling a cold the day before, it wasn't anything he ate from there) So we asked if we could box the pizza we had and take the check. The waiter said that we weren't supposed to take anything to-go due to the 'dine-in' only stipulations on the all-you-can-eat. (Completely understand; it is what it is I guess) So we just asked for the balance of our bill from the drinks and were going to leave. Then the waiter comes back with boxes and said he talked to a manager about our situation, who showed compassion for our situation. It is experiences like this that make me so greatful for Yelp. A small gesture meant a lot to my Wife and I in that moment, and the world needs to know it. Ya it was just 6 slices of pizza, but you can't predict what kids are going to do, and we would have had to come up with a second dinner plan that night once we were home. Thank you staff of Buddy's!!

Buddy's has a great lunch menu and lots of variety. I like that this location has the carry out area, it makes it easier when picking up a larger order for the work crew. I've never dined in, but they do get busy. Service is great on the carry out side and we don't ever have issues with the really annoying stuff like dressing and such. Everything we've tried has been good- burgers, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, salads.. Of course the pizza is a must try. Enjoy!

Full Disclosure: I have not been to the original location in Detroit. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let me say that I have been here twice now, and have enjoyed the food immensely. The first time I came here, I had their small Margherita (4 square). My colleague and I shared it, and we each just had one square, and I was beyond full! She highly recommended their minestrone soup, of which I am so glad I tried because it is RIDICULOUSLY good. All the minestrone soups that I've had have always been more brothy, but Buddy's is a thicker variety; almost like a stew but not that thick. I like the small ditalini pasta that they've incorporated in with it, and it's not mushy at all. Mushy pasta is not a favorite of mine. :) Unlike Detroit-style pizza elsewhere, Buddy's crust is really special. It's not greasy, but not super dense either. It's not health food obviously, but it's crust has just enough crisp while retaining the bounce in towards the center. Flavor isn't overwhelmingly buttery, and the ratio to cheese and toppings is balanced. I've also had their steak hoagie, and if you're feeling hungry, 1 person can easily finish it. My colleague and I shared it, and it was just the right amount when paired with fries. I'd say the size of it is close to 8". Priced at $8.99, I thought the portion was fair, but the flavor was really good, especially if you're a fan of caramelized onions. Service both times were fine, but nothing magical. Both times that I've come have been during the week and after the lunch rush (around 1pm), and it's pleasantly peaceful and relaxing. :) Overall, I'll continue to come back from time to time to get my fill of Detroit-style pizza, but what I REALLY like is that minestrone soup. You must try that if you haven't already. :)

By far the best pizza in Michigan. It's a big restaurant and I have never had to wait for a table, even when it's slammed. They are super organized at getting people in and out. Pizzas are square and so good. Do many choices, we always get a couple. The Greek salad is also really big and so fresh. The waiters are always very friendly. I have never had a bad meal from here. I would love to try their other items but that pizza is just do dang good.

Have I really never reviewed this Buddy's before? My parents and I used to go here all the time, but now I live in Troy so it's not quite as close of a drive. We went here Saturday (Valentine's Day); originally we were going to do lunch and a movie at AMC Livonia, but the weather wasn't great so we changed venues. We split an 8-square deep dish with mushrooms and sausage, and the multigrain crust (*side note: I didn't like that type of crust before but now I'm a convert, the crunchiness is great). My mom also got a small mac 'n cheese entree which came with bread and a side salad, which I ate ... bread was good, salad was fine but very basic (lettuce, tomatoes, carrots). Service was decent as well. I like Buddy's pizza just fine but prefer Shields. The weird thing is that mushroom pizza is always my favorite, but Buddy's mushroom is just kinda blah ... but their pepperoni deep dish is AMAZING because the pepperoni is spicy and they put it under the cheese/sauce rather than on top of it. Definitely worth trying. The multigrain crust is tasty too, especially if you're trying to eat a little healthier. I'd come back to this location if in the area. I will say it's the "oldest"-feeling of the three I've been to ... Novi (newest) is more modern, and Dearborn has more of an old-school pizzeria meets new-school vibe.

I had heard so much about Buddy's pizza and this was my first time at Buddy's. They have a pretty good selection of all kinds of pizza's and also lot's of other menu options. We went with a pretty plain pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers and onions. It was ok, lot's of cheese which I like but I didn't care for their crust. The service was lackluster, it was next to impossible to get a refill. Hopefully the service is better at their other locations.

I came here two days in a row. I'm from Michigan but live in NY. My sister took me here because she thought I'd be impressed with the pizza. Again, I live in NY. I have the best pizza in the world available to me at little cost. Still. I thought I'd humor her and tell her the pizza was good either way. Turns out, this was the best darned pizza I've ever had. We ordered two different 4 squares and shared. She ordered the Detroiter and I had the Lake Superior (with pine nuts.) The pizzas were amazing. Crust was light and buttery. Delicious cheese blend. Between those two I liked the Lake Superior best. You wouldn't think a pizza with pine nuts would be good but you really can't taste them and it adds a nice little crunch to the pizza. (I had 2 leftover slices from my 4 square.) The next day we went because we wanted to take our oldest sister who couldn't make it the day we went. This time I ordered a salad - the Mediterranean with chicken. I eat ALOT of salad and I know it's counter intuitive to order a salad at a pizza place but I assure you, it was a sound decision. The salad was amazing -- and huge! My sister's kept looking at it as though their mouths were watering. I had enough for breakfast leftovers and it was just as good. And as a special bonus. The waiter overheard us tell our sister that it was her birthday and she was welcomed to order anything she wanted. At the end of our meal, the waiter came out with a dessert for her with a lit candle. We were totally surprised and amazed at the attention-to-detail from this waiter. I wish I knew his name! I can't recommend Buddy's Pizza enough and can't wait to go back to Michigan!

Buddy's never disappoints! We've moved out of state but always meet friends at this location when we are in town. I have never eaten a bad meal here and I don't ever remember having bad service. We were just there this past Sunday and already I'm craving a slice of pizza and the antipasto salad. I can not say enough good things about that salad! Everything about it is perfect.

Having two teenagers who eat within a limited circle is tough enough, but having picky eaters on a trip 3,000 miles away from home and their regular routine offers unique challenges. Despite this, I STILLl wanted to have them try something I grew up easting as a Detroit native during a visit from Castaic last week. Buddy's Pizza was a GREAT compromise. In Southern California we have the traditional national chains but very few midwestern, deep dish-style pizzas so Buddy's was a logical choice. Having a set menu of pizzas (I chose the Henry Ford) or the option to order per item in 4 or 8 piece options made ordering for three adults, two teens and one child who all wanted (and chose) something different. What made the experience awesome in addition to the food was the service. Our server, provided background on the restaurant history and the metal serving rounds (wartime use to build grenades), made the seating interesting for those interested. She also provide great tips (as a mom of a child) on what to get and quantities. The Original Square crust was buttery, crispy and for those unaware, having the toppings in reverse order (dough, meat, cheese then sauce) left a good impression on my picky eaters. Highly recommended and great for a togo treat later.

Went to Buddy's for the first time with my co-workers for a celebratory team lunch. I expected a lot based on the Yelp reviews and boy did they deliver!! We had the antipasto and house salads along with the Margherita, Greek, and Detroiter pizzas. The salads were well dressed and really fresh-no complaints there. I sampled the Greek and Margherita pizzas. Both were great if not lacking just a touch more cheese. The crust was perfectly browned and tasty and the sauce had a bite which I appreciated. I am looking forward to coming back =]

Buddy's does not disappoint. There is a reason that they are a Detroit staple. The New Yorker is quite delicious and a thin crust. The Detroiter is also a good choice.

This place is very satisfying if you're just looking for a pizza and sandwich place. The food is great and affordable. It you just want to grab some lunch or a quick dinner, it's a good place.

I came an hour before closing time and it was great! The waitress didn't make us feel rushed. I had the veggie burger (there were lots of vegetarian options on the menu - HUGE PLUS!) and it was so delicious, something i would come back for. It's not a 5 star glamorous restaurant but it's a good family atmosphere. They seem to have more staff members than customers though. Not too expensive, good food, and many different places to sit (more than one room, outdoor patio...) good for groups.

Good pizza but the most poorly, disorganized place I've seen. Ordered a carry out and they got it completely wrong. Said they'd remake it but after waiting almost 40 minutes, I'm leaving!

Usually Buddy's food is very good but the take out service is below average. When buying anything, make sure all the right sauces are there. Other than that, their burgers and sandwiches are very good.

I am from Chicago and heard that this is sub the best pizza in the area. I walked into place a to go order, which took about 20 minutes. The to-go staff was moderately friendly and equally helpful, answering my like "how big is the four piece pizza" (they sell pizza in 4 or 8 slices, but not knowing how big a piece is...) with a response "it's a good size" whatever what means. But the taste is what counts, and the meat pizza was excellent! The garlic rolls a big disappointment as they had little flavor and were barely warm.

I saw Buddy's on Yelp and was intrigued by the idea of Detroit-style pizza. OK, I would probably be intrigued by the idea of a lot of "style" pizza. Except maybe Gary Indiana style pizza? I dunno. Anyway, the parking lot was huge and full of cars, I'm not sure where they were fitting all of the people, although the restaurant was very loud with a fair share of shrieking children and yelling adults. We started with the garlic bread which was really nothing extraordinary. A guy sitting next to us at the bar, who apparently veered in to Buddy's to avoid a traffic jam, was served a dish of lasagna that looked delicious. The pizza was good. It reminded me a lot of Garcia's Pizza in a Pan, if you've ever had that, circa 1989 or so. It's filling, so you don't have to spend a lot to get filled up. The four piece pie without garlic bread would have sufficed for a meal for the two of us. Plus, the bar had free bar snackage available, which could have tided us over until our pizza arrived. They had a selection of wines, which I appreciate. On the way out, we walked past the patio dining which seemed quiet and relaxing compared to the dining room. After a day on the road, sitting out there may have been the better choice for us than the noisy interior, but in any case I would certainly come back again.

Overpriced and Underwhelming Buddy's was one of my favorite "pizzerias" (it's actually a full service restaurant) for a long time. Their pizza is unusual and very good, but way overpriced. Lately they're going downhill. Besides pizza in the last two visits, we ordered the medium Greek salad (serves 4 - 6) for our party of 5. On a huge bed of lettuce, there were not enough cherry tomatoes, beet slices, or pepperoncini for each of us to have even one piece! We mentioned it to our server, and he added a few more tomatoes. Sorry, that salad is not what 4 - 6 people expect.

Loved the food......had the famous Detroit Pizza (vegetarian style)......and a side salad. Will definitely come back again when I am in the area to try other dishes......only complaint was our waiter was kind of a dud. Nice kid.......just not very attentive. Had to ask him several times for water and napkins.....he kept forgetting.

My 501st trip to Buddy's. Something AGAIN that I never had. Okay, since my last review when I tried a different entree' I thought I would be venturous again. After my last review I got a compliment from a former employee. He suggested that I try the meatballs side dish. It's a meal in itself. Here is the description from the menu: "Four freshly made meatballs, smothered with homestyle marinara sauce and oven-baked with mozzarella cheese. Served with grilled garlic bread" (Buddy's Menu 2013). I ordered them with the meat sauce instead of the marinara. These are without a doubt THE best meatballs ever. That mozzarella cheese had beautiful golden brown spots on it from the oven and oozed between the balls. The meatballs were made from an excellent combination of beef and pork. The sauce is the "mild" spaghetti version versus the optional "spicey" Detroit style. Mom, you can quit wondering if your little(huge) boy is eating well. Buddy's beat your meatballs.

Husband and I took 19 month old here today. Kid loved the pizza. ate almost two slices. Their multigrain crust is very good. Our server was just average. We ordered fried veggie sampler platter and she forgot to bring it to us. She said she forgot to even put the order in to the kitchen. She made up for it buy offering it to us for free, which we gladly accepted. I had the vegan delux pizza which was good, however, I would recommend they ditch the vegan cheese they use (daiya) and use another brand. Diaya sucks. It has a weird taste and consistency plus they use too much of it. other than that, our experience was good and we will come back, especially since the kid liked it.

I'm not really a fan of pizza, but mostly because great pizza is hard to find outside of San Diego. I wanted something as cheap as Jets, better quality than Pizza Huts, and more filling than Hungry Howies. I happened to be on my way to Beans N Cornbread when I allowed myself to be distracted by Radioheads Karma Police and drove too far. I saw this dorky sign lit up, pulled up my Yelp app, and thought "why not". Glad I did; the Detroiter is fantastic. Plain and simple deep dish style with basic meat and cheese. A small is four slices, and for someone who can usually eat an entire hot n ready in one sitting (gross, I know: who are you to judge me ...), I could only eat two slices right away. It was definitely cheaper than Jets, a better quality than Pizza Hut, and way more filling than Hungry Howies... I'll be back.

The pizza is fantastic and so is the salad! You can't go wrong here. Great service as well. They have multi grain and vegan pizzas as well as meat lovers pizzas so everyone can be happy. I'm getting hungry just thinking about this place!

This was great pizza! The Combinations they offer have Something for everyone. I had the Lake Erie pizza which had peppers, salami, their special cheese blend and red onions. The other bets of my party had the Greek pizza and the Lake Huron and they loved theirs too. Salads were large and the homemade dressings were good !

A few of the guys I work with love this place, so I've been meaning to go and had a good reason to end up here to celebrate the marriage of one of our colleagues. We all ordered our own four piece pizzas. While the guys stuck to traditional toppings (bacon, pepperoni, sausage), I chose the "antioxidant" pizza with basil and roasted garlic. It was delicious, well baked and just the right crust for a lighter Detroit-style. One of our crew had a house salad, which was huge and fresh. We were all stuffed and ready to nap at our desks after this feast.

Buddys pizza defines Detroit-style pizza. It receives countless rewards and in my opinion is the best pizza chain Detroit has to offer. I am reviewing this specific location in this review. This location offers a sit down restaurant and a seperate carry-out area. The carry-out location does not have pizza ready to go by the slice like at some locations but when you get a pizza you get a nice quality pizza. Parking for the restaurant is my biggest complaint about going here and depending on what time of day you go you may find yourself parking a bit far away in the lot. I have never had to wait for a table and they seem to have plenty of tables and waiters. I've always had consistently good food and service here.

This is as good as pizza gets. I went with a work group of folks! I heard so much about Buddy's and I have eaten there before, but for some reason today me palate was ready. I ordered a Surpreme pizza and some other folks ordered a Cobb salad. My pizza was buttery bites of heaven. I'm in love! We also ordered the fried zucchini, which they got the order wrong and gave us the fried sampler? It consistented of fried zucchini, cauliflower, and mushrooms. I am typically not the fried anything fan, but this was an incredibly delightful experience - the fried array of veggies were quite delious. They were not overly greasy, battery or bready. It came with a choice of marina sauce or ranch and we ordered both. They were both great dipping sauces, not overly spicy or salty. The service was good, despite out waitress being a little confused at times, but I can see that happening since the place was overloaded with customers - it was lunchtime. She was just the right amount of pleasant, if you know what I mean. Overall, it was a great outing and experience. I will come back, but the next time I will bring a coupon. As much as I like Buddy's, it is a bit expensive. The next time, I will bring my coupon with me! This is as good as pizza gets, y'all!

Came in for a late night dinner. Garlic bread was served untoasted. When it came time for a refill on my iced tea, I was told that someone had dumped all of it. We were not the only table left! I had to complain to the manager about being charged for one glass of iced tea! $2.49!!!! VERY IRRITATED! Service was lack luster at best... Not a good experience! I expect SO much more of Buddy's! Especially at these prices!!!

I love Buddy's pizza. It's crispy, greasy, gooey, delicious Detroit style pizza at its best. I generally don't dine in, because it tends to be a little expensive but I do enjoy their take out. If you are able to get a coupon, their pizza can be bought for just a few dollars more than the typical chains, but it is so much better. Sometimes the take-out wait can be a little long, but that is to be expected of a pizza place during peak hours. Another surprisingly tasty item Buddy's offers is their minestrone soup. It is thick and almost creamy, filled with pasta, beans and veggies and served with little parmesan cheese packets to go on top. This is what I consider a main dish soup, as it is very filling and flavorful. Their antipasto salad is also quite good. It is made fresh daily and is always full of tasty meats and cheeses. The crowning glory of this salad is he dressing, however. It is a perfectly seasoned oil and vinegar dressing that is wonderfully sour and savory. Prices are above your average chain pizza location, but the quality of the food is far above average. It is a great place to take out-of-town visitors and friends when you want to give them a taste of something uniquely Detroit.

Best pizza is Oakland County, I would say this location is just as good as the Conant location in Detroit, it's better to call ahead if you're doing a carryout. Hands down the best pizza I've had!

Great pizza as usual and a mention again from me that the addition of vegan cheese and gluten free options is a very positive step The highlight of this order was the crust, crispy and flavorful. I didn't really care for the mushrooms on this pizza this time but that's a small complaint. I want to mention again in this review that this is not cheap, run-of-the-mill pizza and the cost reflects premium pizza. Still you can get a coupon in the newspaper sometimes (we normally go only when we have the coupon) which will take a few dollars off. Also, some people I know always are full after a slice or two (so you may have leftovers for another meal too from one order). Great-tasting pizza and quality ingredients make Buddy's Pizza a true "Detroit original."

Detroit-style pizza is the dark horse of the pizza world, and Buddy's is the place to try it out. We stopped in on our way to a Friday night Pistons game in Auburn Hills, and the restaurant was pretty busy. We didn't expect it to be so enormous, pulling up and seeing somewhere between 40-60 cars in the parking lot, and fortunately we got in right before the dinner rush. There must've been a 1-to-1 car-to-person ratio, a theme I noticed a few times throughout our visit to SE Mchigan. So what makes Detroit-style different from the more commonly known Chicago and New York styles? Here's what I noticed...First off, it's square shaped. Second, the crust is toasted from an oiled cooking pan, giving it a crispy and buttered texture on the exterior. Third, there isn't an overwhelming amount of cheese involved, and the body of the pizza is largely made of the chewy interior of the crust. Lastly, the sauce has a spice and herb punch that adds a nice flavor dynamic. It tasted excellent, and they served it up in practically no time (unlike the typical hour-long wait for Chicago style deep dish). Our waitress was friendly, and we met another patron from the next table over who was a WWII vet, which was interesting. Buddy's: stop in for the pizza, stick around for some fascinating oral history. I visited Buddy's ready to taste unchartered pizza territory, and they made me a convert. Even though I live in Chicago, Detroit-style is my new favorite kind of pizza.

Been here only for dinner. Always have waited. It is well worth the wait. The pizza at this Buddys is better than the carryout place at Maple and Lahser. I get the pasta which is also quite tasty. If you are going to get the antipasto order an extra dressing (according to my husband). Some people complain that it is too expensive, others say the pizza isn't great. Phooey on them - this place rocks.

Tasty, juicy pizza. My first trip to Buddy's was a disappointment - we sat close to the kitchen and the strong odor coming from it (like an oven on a self cleaning cycle) completely destroyed the experience. I am glad I went there again. I like deep dish pizza, and every time we go to Chicago we have one. Buddy's menu claims it's a "Detroit" style pizza; I like it more than the Chicago style one (like Uno's). The biggest difference is that this square pizza has open sides, so you get less crust and more toppings. Their pizza is rich in flavor and tastes great, I especially liked ham & pineapple. I went there with two kids who couldn't agree on the topping for their regular pizza they were going to share, and the waiter offered to make half of it with different toppings (no extra charge). Many choices, they even have gluten free pizza. The interior is interesting, kind of 50s style diner meets the 80s. The service was good but the waiters seemed rushed. Nevertheless, an enjoyable experience and I will be coming back for more.

I would go back to Buddy's on a future visit though be prepared for it to be a greasy meal. The smallest pizza you can order is 4 good sized squares. I really only need 2. Service was very good and pleasant overall experience. The pizza is a thicker crust pizza so depending on your style you may not prefer this. However it is not as thick as deep dish. It is served hot, almost too hot. So let it chill on your table for a few minutes before digging into it.

A catered office lunch featured Buddy's Pizza today. Small boxes lay on the counter, tempting me with the scents of vegetables and glistening tomatoes on a square slice of doughy heaven. And all the while I am trying to eat healthy and finding absolutely no satisfaction in my steamed veggies and yoghurt. I capitulated with a sense of shame, having a piece of the original veggie and a plentiful heap of iceberg lettuce studded with a bit of ham and mozzarella, maybe enough to be qualified as an antipasto salad. I avoided more of the meat and hunted around for elusive tomatoes. The pizza was gone in about six bites. Nice crunch, firm crust, and not bathed in oil like so many pizzerias like, I was satisfied if lamenting I couldn't have more. The sauce is quite salty, but the crust was chewy and toasted, rather than a doughy mass of gross. Antipasto salads are definitely not my thing, and the addition of mozzarella was fine. The meat must've been snipped up with scissors into tiny meat-fetti, and sort of disappointing. I don't like meat in my salads in general, but meat-fetti begs to be thrown in the air and celebrated under. Baconfetti, imagine! Sadly work will not allow me to pursue such interests, not unless I want to vacuum and be scorned by my coworkers. I didn't care much for the salad, which was fresh but utterly, essentially bland. Ditch the meat, add some tasty vinagrette, and it's a winner. As I didn't have to pay, it was a good deal. The thick crust appealed to the breadavore lurking inside my mild-mannered, vivacious exterior. But would I go out of my way to get it again? Probably not, though I'm like that with pizza. I run very hot or meh, and this didn't trigger the hot hot hot button.

Since I'm a thin crust enthusiast, I was skeptical of all the rave reviews pointing me toward's Buddy's Detroit-style crust but now I am a believer! It was delicious! The crust has incredible flavor and wasn't doughy as I had expected. I really liked the char around the outer edges, as well. The veggie burger was also very good and the pickles on top were incredible! My only complaints are that the fries that came with the veggie burger were soggy and flavorless and the services was really slow (took me 20 minutes to see our waitress after getting our waters to ask for a beer). Had it been busy, I wouldn't have minded but it was less than a quarter full. The restaurant atmosphere is very welcoming and despite our waitress being MIA she was very pleasant. I'm sure we'll be back soon!

Being from Chicago I definitely have a taste for good pizza. Buddy's Pizza does not disappoint. From the outside it doesn't look like much and it's in one of the roughest cities in the U.S. But inside there is a friendly atmosphere with top quality food. What was most surprising was that they offered vegan cheese That being said I couldn't wait to try their vegan rustic pizza and I ended up coming back two more days because I couldn't get enough. Would rate it higher than 5 stars if possible. Do not skip over this place if you're in the area.

I've had 2 experiences with Buddy's pizza on Northwestern Hwy. 1. We ordered take out and it was some of the best pizza I've had. I'll say it again, I've live in Chicago and I've spent time in New York; Buddy's is some of the best pizza I've had. 2. My girlfriend can not eat gluten and Buddy's sells "gluten free" pizza, so I call and ask about their standards for ensuring there is no cross contamination. I spoke with 2 people about their process and it was clear that they weren't comfortable with this process while actively pitching it. When I asked if they change their gloves between making pizza with gluten and without, I was told "no". Additionally, I was told that they do not make them in a separate area. I asked how they dealt with allergies and I was told that they do not annotate them on the ticket. *If you have a gluten allergy or Celiac, I highly recommend against this Buddy's. If you can eat whatever you want, this is your place.

The pizza is great here and one of the best! They put a lot of cheese on it and the sides taste great the way they make it crispy!

So THIS is Detroit-style pizza. But before I go there. Buddy's is huge. The inside is a cross between a sports bar and a retro diner. The staff are enthusiastic, friendly, and efficient. The atmosphere is great. It's tremendously busy yet I still had my own booth. And my order was taken and processed in an instant. I knew this would be a five-star Yelp review when they brought out my four-square margherita. All I could think was "Brilliant! Every slice is a corner slice!" BRILLIANT!!! This is probably the best square pizza I've ever eaten. All are others of reference were inferior. The dough, the crust ... and man, all those ingredients work so well. High quality. Fresh. This is just an unbelievably satisfying pizza. And this was just the margherita. A four-square will fill up the average human being, in case you need to know. Finishing an eight-square by yourself will likely land you in an emergency department. Detroit-style pizza rocks. Buddy's rocks. Unique but executed flawlessly. I can't wait to be back, Pepcid and all!

A great lunch time destination for business people who want a solid meal but don't want to be late clocking back into work. The service is quick and the food and prices are great. I've been to the Farmington Hills location a few times and each time I have ordered the mosticolli marinara with chicken. It's only $10.49 and comes with a salad and rolls. Plus Buddy's offers a AAA discount, so you can get a great meal for under $10. The pizza is obviously awesome too, but I can't eat it during the work day... trying to avoid that post-lunch food coma.

I LOVE BUDDY'S!! Especially this location!! I have been eating at this Buddy's my whole life. I have spent many family dinners here growing up, with everyone in my family....grandparents, mom, dad, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and just about anyone and everyone I know. I have eaten here at least a million times, and its just as good as the first time I came here many years ago as a child. This specific location holds a special place in my heart. I have dined here with my entire family for years. Good times, bad times, and everything in between. Eaten here with friends from the past and present, and this location is full of memories for me. I came here with my friend Paul, whom I actually went to Kindergarden with way back in the day. We also spent many summers together up north at camp, and reconnected via facebook a few years ago. I finally got to sit down face to face with him for the first time since high school, probably 15+ years ago. I get what I always get at Buddys-a pepperoni pizza with a Greek Salad, and a Dr. Pepper. The server was amazing, and the food was 5 star delicous. I was so happy with my food, and Buddy's always comes through for me. This is one of those places that holds a very special place in my heart. Buddy's is an icon to me, and always will be. I love it here, and this is one heck of an awesome pizza joint. Keep up the good work buddy's-I love you. I LOVE YOU BUDDY'S!!!!!

I'm a huge Buddy's fan. Whenever the better half and I are in town we try and make it to a Buddy's. This location is larger than most, and can be much busier as well. Wait times can be long, but the Pizza is no less delicious. If you haven't had buddy's pizza, you haven't had a pizza yet. :)

If you think you've had all styles of pizza after Italy, New York, and Chicago... think again! Detroit style pizza is definitely another style and Buddy's is definitely the destination to get your pizza on! Don't let the size full you...like Chicago style deep dish, a small or 4 square is more than enough for 2 individual comfortably. I had two co-workers with me and both are over 6' tall and at least 200 lbs, and both were stuffed after a 4 square with appetizers. Here you can choose between 4 and 8 squares sliced in specialties or by toppings of your choice. I tried the awesome Detroiter which is similar to a Meat's Lover at most national franchises. As many had suggested in their reviews, you should order the 4 square so that every slice you eat has the corners as its by far one of the best crispy crust-like pizza. Also tried their bacon cheese fries/wedges. It's pretty cheesy and the potatoes was just the right size.

I cannot believe that I have not reviewed Buddy's Pizza. Buddy's is a metro Detroit institution. I used to come here with family all of the time as a kid, and even in college I would stop by on occasion. This is fairly sinful pizza - deep dish and bubbly. Great Greek salads, too!

Stopped here around 2 p.m. on a weekday. No waiting for a table, and plenty of TVs to watch the Tigers. Antipasto salad was great, the pizza was excellent (tried the pepperoni, veggie, and meat lovers).

I have always been a Chicago style fan, but after moving here was told that this place was the originator of the 8 corner pizza. So when in Rome, right? The outer crust was fine, but it really didn't seem done in the middle, the toppings were ok. The waiting area for carry out was no different than waiting in a Little Caesars. But then again, I compare pizza to sex. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

BEST. THICK. CRUST. PIZZA. EVER. ANYWHERE. (good enough to pack up and schlep home to California in your carry-on, which is what I did.)

Yummy pizza and my wife must have gluten-free pizza so naturally she loves it! I actually tried some of the gluten-free and it's darn good! There are Buddy's locations all around the area and they all have decent service and great pizza as well as alternative choices. Their 4-slice is the perfect size for dinner-prices are reasonable too.

Had the gluten free pizza with soy cheese and wasn't expecting much since gluten free pizza is mostly pretty mushy and tasteless but this pizza was amazing!!! The crust actually got crunchy and the sauce was tangy and the cheese actually melted. YUM. I haven't had Buddy's in years and was visiting. The last time I ate it, it was the real deal and I've been dreaming about it. Since I have so many dietary restrictions now, I honestly wasn't expecting much but I was happily wrong. The salad was tasty too, the vinegar based dressing was simple yet delish. When I fly back home, I'm picking up a take n bake on the way to the airport, YUM!!!

A trip to MI isn't complete without a visit to Buddy's Pizza. Even though I live in Chicago, a town with its own recognizable style of pizza, it still can't compare to the square. Regarding pizza in my mind, it's all about the crust, and Buddy's attains the proper balance of crunchy-to-chewy. Toppings are balanced too: plenty of cheese, not too much sauce. It's a deep dish pizza, but not in the manner of Chicago-style, where the sauce is glopped on the top and you can eat one piece and feel full for two days. Buddy's is my mom's all-time favorite, and she was delighted to learn that they sell frozen ones to go (which stay frozen on a 5-hour drive back to Chicago). She and my grandmother also love the antipasto salad. So when it comes to pizza in Detroit, come to Buddy's and dare to be square.

I have been coming here for years, and have never once been disappointed. The quality of the food is consistently outstanding. My favorites are the pizza, spaghetti and antipasto salad. I especially appreciate that they offer both small and large portions of their menus items. The dining room has a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the service is always good. If you get a carry-out pizza, they always open the box and show it to you before you pay. Now, what other pizza carry out does that? I refuse to get carry-out pizza anywhere else.

Ingredients are fresh and good quality, food is well prepared and tastes good, salads were good, and service is very reasonable. I grew up on pizza in NYC and enjoyed it in Italy, and am enough of a pizza fanatic to make it my personal photo on Yelp . But, Buddy's is not pizza. It's thick bread with sauce and cheese. Take a look at my photo...that is pizza. My Cousin's on Woodward was the best around here until they disappeared. Brooklyn in Birmingham, Fresco in Rochester, and Biga in Southfield understand pizza fairly well! Enjoy good food at Buddy's, but pizza, it's not! (P.S. Here's a real pizza test, other than being thin...try one with just cheese, the way it was originally served to Princess Margherita in the 19th century....no toppings....if that is not excellent all by itself, toppings cannot camouflage the pizza-pretense of the Texas-originated so-called "deep dish" later brought to Chicago.)

Favorite place for deep dish pizza! Amazing antipasto salad. Staff is always friendly even when we have 6 kids with us all under the age of 8. Family friendly but also a great place to meet a couple is friends! Love you Buddy's Pizza!

I've been eating at Buddy's for years! This place is amazing! This particular location does dine in and carry out; we have tried both. For dine in, the service has always been great. Even though it always seems to be busy, we've had luck getting a table without a reservation. The hostesses and servers are kind and speedy. Also, as an added bonus, the restrooms always seem to be clean and tidy, well-stocked. For carry out, they do not offer pizza by the slice or any ready-made foods; so plan on calling ahead or having a few minutes to spare when you get there for them to prepare your order. Parking at this location is sometimes tough, but there are adjoining lots you can use. The food is delicious! Buddy's makes their pizzas "backwards" so the pepperoni layer goes on first, then the cheese layer, then the sauce layer. The pizzas are all deep dish with a crunchy crust that has a fried taste to it. Very unique! We really like it here, and are confident that you will too!

I wish I could give out half stars. So in that case I give Buddy's a 4.5. The half of star comes from the fact that they have whole grain crust and lactose free cheese. That's wat's up! Upon entrance I was immediately taken back. There it was.The best video game ever created, Ms. Pac Man. And still a quarter! Again, that's wats up! I was greeted immediately and taken to my seat. My waitress was super nice and fast on the drinks. I ordered a half and half pizza. My counterpart had the Hawaiian Style and I just stuck with the lactose free cheese pizza. We had the deep dish 8 square. I was full off of 2 pieces. The pizza is definitely good. The atmosphere is cool as well. I was extremely comfortable in my over-sized booth. I'll definitely be stopping in to grab a Buddy's Pizza in the near future.

Synonymous with Detroit Style Pizza. I have frequented this location many times over the past 5 years because it's right around the corner from where I work. Regardless of day or time they are always busy. They do have a clown on Wednesdays, and yes, it creeps me out though she seems pleasant enough. Why can't they just have a magician like Robin Rouge? That would be less terrifying. Though, they do have an arcade video game machine in the lobby that has Ms. Pacman on it. I heart Ms. Pacman! Buddy's offers almost every topping known to mankind but adding them to a pizza can get pricy, but who else offers carrots? Plus they use WI Brick Cheese which is rock-your-world fabulous. They also have a huge list of specialty pizzas and offer two different sauces and a gluten free crust. I can attest to their Caesar Salad as being pretty darn good and served with a lemon which added an exciting twist. My most recent pizza had spinach, feta, and pineapple (they offer sliced and diced!) on it and it was perfect. I split an 8 slice pizza with my friend so essentially it was two 4 slice pizzas. I know many who claim that to be a huge feat to accomplish but I think I usually average a 4 slice pizza when I dine at Buddy's. They also serve a basket of fresh rolls when dining inside the restaurant. I might pass on the garlic bread with cheese--I remember it being just okay. For those not into the pizza scene--which there are a few out there--they do also serve pasta dishes (amazing macaroni and cheese!), burgers, salads, etc. and also importantly, a full bar with three different sizes of draught beer. Check their website for coupons!

I came here for the Robby burger on the advice of the business owner I'm working for this week, and was not disappointed. Even though the parking lot was pretty full, I got a solo seat at the bar with no problem at about 7:15pm on a Saturday night. Decided on the 1/3 pound Swiss Robby with tomato and raw onion and thin fries. The burger had a plain bun, but not a typical store bought one. The Robby sauce appears to be a thin version of thousand island. The tomatoes were good, one good full slice of raw onion, shredded lettuce, pickles, cooked medium. Easily one of the best burgers I've had (Five Guys has nothing on this burger). This is a typically good bar burger, which you don't find so often anymore. The fries had a light seasoning to them and were quite tasty. Got a large dill pickle spear, and a small container of some good tangy cole slaw. They have a selection of beers, but I had a jack and coke (you spend 10hrs in a flower shop the day before Mother's Day and you'll want something stronger than beer too!). Make sure to ask for a few extra napkins as it can get a little messy. The nice thing was the burger was juicy, but not so much so that it melted the bun and fell apart. By contrast, I've been to Redcoat and once you pick their burger up, you pretty much can't put it down till you finish or you're eating mush with your fork. (Redcoat is still good though). This is one of those places, that like Shiro in Novi, I will visit again when I'm back in town. This will be my new burger haunt in the area until someone tells me there is a better one somewhere. Came to about 13$ with one drink and the burger/fries. In addition, all the pizzas I saw come out looked great. Defintely on my list to try one next time I'm here.

A good friend of mine who used to live in Detroit told me I had to go to Buddy's Pizza when I was headed to Southfield for a business trip. I didn't make it there on my first trip, but finally made it there last week. We arrived on Thursday with a group of 7 from the office at about 12:15. The parking lot was packed and I was worried we would have to wait a long time for a table, but we were seated right away. The dining room seemed large, plus there was some outdoor seating. Right off the bat our service was poor, which is what pulls this rating from a five star down to a four. The salad came out slow (we had to ask for it several times), one of our pizzas was completely wrong, our soda glasses sat empty, and generally the waitress was not doing a good job. Fortunately the food more than made up for the service. We started with an antipasta salad which was quite tasty. Someone also ordered some garlic cheesy bread which was great. For pizza, I stuck with a classic and had pepperoni. The pizza was fantastic. I've never had Detroit style pizza and it was amazing. Way better than any of the wanna-be pizza in Dallas (we make up for lack of pizza with an abundance of Mexican and BBQ, but I still miss good pizza!). The corners were my favorite slices with the cheesy crust melted right up to the very edges and crispy. I think I scarfed down 3 or 4 squares and wish I could have taken one home on the plane with me! The crust, pepperoni, sauce and cheese were all top notch. This out-of-towner highly recommends Buddy's for the food, but watch out for the service!

I know lots of people love this place. So maybe my taste buds are out of whack, but I really don't love this place at all. First of all, the pizza might be called pizza and accepted as pizza if you grew up in Michigan, but this isn't really even Sicilian pizza in the classic sense. It kind of reminds me of the Greek pizza places that you find on the east coast. You know the kind. They have pictures of the Greek isles on the walls and the Parthenon. It's not Pizza. It is like white bread baked in a deep pie pan with red sauce kind of splashed around and a nondescript cheese melted in islands on the top. Yes the edges are crispy and yes the slices are greasy. No Napoletano would be able to identify this as Pizza. I usually try to avoid this place but recently one of my daughters begged to "have Buddy's", so we had it and it refreshed my memory. It was just as mediocre as it was the other times we tried it. The pricing is high for what you get and there aren't a lot of alternatives to the so called pizza. The sandwiches are not a good food value and the salads, although plentiful are not particularly exciting. But as I said, lots of folks do love this place, so maybe it's just me.

I've been coming here since I was a little kid and I have continued to do that because I have never had a bad meal here. I will say that if you come around dinnertime, even during the week, there is a wait. But trust me, it's well worth the wait. This is not one of those pizza places where the only good thing on the menu is the pizza. Buddy's macaroni and cheese is out of this world! It's cheesy and buttery and oven-baked (not like Kraft mac n' cheese). For a starter, the minestrone soup is a thick and delicious concoction that will satisfy. The pizza is always good and one of a kind. If you like chicken fingers, I definitely recommend those too (they make their own). Do yourself a favor, if you go to Buddy's, come hungry!

SQUARE PIZZA!!! I love you Buddy's Pizza... if I don't eat here when I am in town visiting from Cali I get very sad. This place just makes me happy. The fun family environment brings back memories being in Detroit as a kid with all of my relatives. The pizza is so warm, fresh, cheesy and crisp all rolled into one - and then squared. The mac & cheese and the antipasto salad is great too. Oh and don't forget the cheesey garlic bread. You will not leave this joint without a take-home box. That's how much food you get. My mouth is literally watering right now...

Looking for gluten-free pizza? Look no further and don't be afraid, it's like REAL pizza my friends - REAL PIZZA! (I know, take a moment...) I have never had Buddy's regular pizza, I hear it's amazing and I totally believe it because their gluten-free pizza is the best I've had. They have fun specialty pizzas with delicious combinations like blue cheese (yes, gluten-free), bacon and caramelized onions. I like to combine bacon (theirs is particularly smoky delicious), onions and mushrooms. My husband isn't gluten-free but also likes this pizza a lot! Bonus! We prefer to eat it there because when you carry out the steam makes it a little soggy - but still good and we still do carry out because it's so close to REAL pizza. When you eat in you will find a buttery delicious crust with crispy outsides and moderately chewy insides. The tomato sauce is mild but nice. The pizza pairs nicely with a ceasar salad (croutons for my husband on the side) - definitely use the lemon! The antipasto salad was lacking...I wouldn't get it again...but maybe I got a bum salad. A couple things to note on the gluten free pizza. It only comes in a small size which is 6 smaller pieces. And they don't cut it in the back, so brush up on your pizza cutter skills and be careful - the pizza cutter they give you is extra special sharp! Also, Buddy's is busy a lot of the time...plan ahead! (Also, the parking lot gets scary...just sayin')

Okay, so I'm a fan of the OLD Buddy's on the edge of Detroit and Hamtramack. I can remember when my college buddies (all puns intended) would head to the original Buddy's and wait as long as it took to get a table in the cramped rooms where the smell of great, rich sauce turned us from tired students to silly kids. Tex was the best waitress ever...at least for taming college animals. Just thinking about it brings back very specific memories. That being said, I have come to accept the fact that the Buddy's on Northwestern truly is a distant relative of the original. The atmosphere is quite different...larger, brighter, calmer, but it's still worth waiting for a table. Tex may not be there, but the wait-staff is efficient (without the bluster) and friendly. You actually get the feeling that they want to give you a good experience at Buddy's. Last night I took my friend/kid to Buddy's at around 9:00pm. That's about an hour before closing, when things were winding down and you'd think the staff would be dying to get out of there and on with their lives. Our waitress (very tall, thin, attractive blonde--sorry, I missed her name) was wonderful! I only saw one other occupied table in the main dining room and, of course, she was handling both tables. The room was dead, but she was very much alive. Within the 45 minutes that we were there, we learned a few personal things about her and she about us. No one shared TMI, but we interacted like normal, nice people. She didn't mind that we were celebrating and feeling a bit silly...she just rolled with us. We liked her. And don't let me get away with writing a restaurant review without mentioning the food. Buddy's still makes great pizza, pasta, soup, and the most wonderful antipasto. I ordered a Medium Antipasto (supposedly serves 4-6 people) as my personal dinner. I ate all I could and took lots home. I also had a martini just the way I like it...up, very cold, no vermouth, and hand-stuffed blue cheese olives (the bar will hand-stuff olives when it's not crazy busy...and some waitresses will do it themselves when the bar can't). Buddy's is a good, solid, safe choice when you're up for Italian. I miss hanging at the original Buddy's, but I'm grateful to have its cousin in my neighborhood.

Yum! I like the pizza here. It's my Mom's all time favorite, so growing up in Michigan meant visits to Buddys - which of course none of us kids complained about! The crust is yummy and just a bit buttery, the topings are good & fresh & we've always had good service! Hmmmm, I think I need to swing by buddy's next time I'm in Detroit! Pizza in Miami isn't too great :(

Absolutely delicious. I always start with an antipasto salad. The best I've ever had...the delicious ham, salami and cheese on top make it a must-have for every visit. Then, for an appetizer, chicken strips. I am a huge fan of chicken strips, and theirs are great. I also like the mozzarella cheese sticks. Plus, their ranch is amazing. I absolutely love dressing, so if I say that a place has good ranch, I will definitely be dining there again. Then the pizza. Perfection. I always go with the simple cheese and pepperoni...sounds boring, right? Not at Buddy's!! It doesn't matter what kind of pizza you get, you will love it. Overall, delicious food. Not too expensive. I love that the place is only in Detroit...I bring visiting friends here all the time to experience what real pizza tastes like.

Growing up in Metro-Detroit, this is always the place I went with the whole family. From Sunday dinners with the grandparents, to birthday parties throughout the years, this was always our go-to spot. The food is phenomenal, and even if you're not a fan of pizza. The antipasto salad is delicious, with an awesome oil/vinegar dressing, and their Wisconsin brick cheese, that is made specifically for Buddy's. This cheese is the same one they use on the pizza, and it gives it a great taste/consistency. The toppings on the pizza are underneath the cheese, so they don't get burnt. Try getting garlic on your pizza, they put actual chunks of garlic on the pizza and it's to die for!! The staff are friendly, the service is great and the food is amazing. I love everything about this place!

On the outside I thought it was just another pizza place but I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was great and attentive but not annoying. The place was extremely clean and the decor was Motown themed and I loved it. The food was average priced and there were lots of options. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza with thin crust and added bacon, my husband had the new Yorker and we shared a basket of seasoned fries, the big wedge ones. The fries had salt but I expected real seasoning like garlic or Parmesan or something but there was more than enough. The pizzas were good but I love California pizza kitchen the best. Buddy's was a cheaper alternative but next time I'll try a sandwich.

I can't believe I am finally writing this review, after eating here for 30 years. Here is what you need to know - this is the best pizza in the world, period. This is Detroit style rectangular pizza, with sauce over the cheese. The Greek salad is also good. I don't order other stuff as the pizza is great. The edge of the pizza has a nice crusty flavor. The cheese & sauce combo towards the center of the pieces is chewy, flavorful, & different than most other pizzas.

I'm not really that impressed with Buddy's pizza. It is considered to be a staple in the metro Detroit area and I have been here twenty plus times. The pizza is good. But nothing super special or anything. Last time I was there I had a veg. za. (yes, za!). I used to get mostaccioli and that is decent too. The minestrone soup is my favorite and is unique in it's thickness as compared to others. Check out Uncle Andy's or tomatoes apizza for some better zza !

Really really good pizza. But the front staff are useless idiots. They allowed another group to take our spot in the queue, so at the 25 min mark I was forced to ask WTH was up. They give you buzzers, ya know, so that just should not happen. No excuses. Wait staff were very busy and gracious, and the pizza is balls out awesome. Would have been 5 if not for the useless front staff wankers.

Great food! The pizza is one of the best around. Consistently good. The wait on a Friday night or Saturday is around 20 mins. Beer selection could be a bit more extensive but they do showcase about 7 Michigan beers. Desserts are made with Sanders hot fudge which is a real Detroit staple. Worth the drive wherever you live.

Good food. I tried the Greek pizza and I added bacon. It was very good. Ask for a side of sauce cause they don't put any on the pizza and it needs some. The Antipasto salad was a great buy. It's big and filled to the top.

Other than the occasional slow server, the place is great. The deep dish pizza is the best around, and this location is nice, clean and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend Buddy's to anyone who hasn't been.

this is my home location Buddy's. i love detroit pizza. don't get me wrong, there are other good pizzas out there. Grimaldi's under the brooklyn bridge, supino in eastern market, motorcity brewery, cottage inn, certified neapolitan, etc. but i love detroit pizza. this location has been consistent in taste for me. this location has had consistent taste for me with my Super. the only other pizza i've tried is Hawaiin with the sweet sauce. good as well, but i'd order that in a large group to share. just one slice. so, yeah, i get the Super. regular or gluten free, they are both good. gluten free Super definitly feels lighter in taste and feel. less substance. but my insides felt more comfortable later that day. wings were nothing special. get a greek salad. sometimes this location isn't that great with quick cleanup. or attention to detail during cleanup. kinda dirty sometimes. food on floor. i've seen cleaner restaurants.

Buddy's has a cool, fun atmosphere! Arcade games, memorabilia on the walls, and enthusiastic waitstaff that are extremely customer conscious. There is usually a good sized crowd too with all sorts of things going on directed towards the customers. I always have a great time here whether I'm in the bar or the regular dining section. Needless to say the pizza is excellent. Deep dish gooey cheesiness with a lot of toppings! I can honestly say its one of the best in Detroit for deep dish squares. Their pasta is great as well. I always order the carryout mostaccoli with marinara for lunch and it is a very size-able portion. They have a completely separate pick up station, so if you are in a rush it serves as a quick solution for restaurant style pizza. No waiting at the bar for your pie to come out. Just walk in, pay and walk out with pizza in tow. Very convenient. As a previous yelper stated I love the fact that it's a Detroit original!! Support the local economy and give buddy's a try if you haven't yet. It's a definite must!

Next to Pizza Papalis, this is some of the best pizza in the Detroit Area. Buddy's serves square, deep dish pizzas with many topping varieties. This past week I shared an 8-square Greek Pizza. It is quite difficult to eat 5 pieces, and suicidal to eat all 8 (I should have died many times over according to this logic). The Greek salads are also quite good, and coca cola always seems strangely more satisfying here than anywhere else. Sometimes the service is iffy, but I don't mind being left alone with a great pizza.

I got a Deep Dish for lunch today and it was not up to standard. The cheese was kind of burnt tasting, both the cheese and the sauce were uneven on the pizza, the pepperonis were quite sparse, I think there were 2 pepperonis on the 2 slices I had. It just was not up to par for Buddy's, which generally has great pizza.

Absolutely, without a doubt, my favorite pizza. Nothing says Detroit pizza like a corner slice of Buddys Pizza. 'Nuf said.

So I have been going to Buddy's for quite a while as have many in the metro Detroit area, mostly because of a family gatherings. And I have to say *gulp*, It is not my favorite pizza. I'm not a big fan of pizza with the sauce over the cheese, but that is my personal taste. Over all it is a fine dinning experience, and there food is ok, with a good wait staff and good ambience. I like how a lot of their ingredients are locally bought. I normally get a burger which is just average (although I understand that is not their specialty). The pasta is ok, and their soups are pretty good with descent prices.

Buddy's is one of those Metro Detroit classics. Everyone pretty much knows about Buddy's. Their pizza is great, though very filling! I have been coming to Buddy's since I was much younger with my family and I still enjoy it to this day. A great family-friendly establishment. It is a bit pricy at times (some of their appetizers and desserts I feel are overpriced) but still a great place to stop for some quality pizza.

Great. Best pizza around. Went there a couple weeks ago with some friends for lunch, the pizza was great and so was the service.

Buddy's deep dish is definitely something else. If you haven't had it yet, you must try it. But deep dish aside, Buddy's offers good food. In fact, I prefer not to get the deep dish generally. I've dined in a number of times, almost always with a group, either for work or school or whatever. The food is always good... by food I mean pizza and salads. For those of you haven't been in awhile, they renovated the restaurant in the last year. It's still the same, good ol' Buddy's though.

Every time I come home to Michigan, I have to come here. The waiters are always friendly and prompt, and the deep dish pizza is perfect (this says a lot, coming from Brooklyn).

I absolutely love Buddy's Pizza. We arrived at Buddy's around 7:30pm on a weekday and although the parking lot was full and they were quite busy, we were immediately seated. Service was very quick as well. We decided to get the multigrain crust, which has fabulous texture and taste, but I didn't realize it wasn't going to be as thick as the normal crust. I'll probably go back to the regular crust next time. I've never had anything but pizza at Buddy's, but their pizza is so good that I never want to try anything else!

oh god. there is nothing like a square buddy's deep dish pizza, no matter how far and wide i look. crust is mildly greasy but in a delicious and crispy way that puts pizza hut to shame. cheese is plentiful and the tomato sauce is tangy and placed on top of the pie for a slightly unusual and totally amazing experience in each bite. they also have a wonderful antipasto salad. buddy's is a very all-around fun family oriented place to eat. they have great deals--ie. if the lions score a certain amount of points your ticket stub turns into a ticket for half off a pizza, etc. very detroit and very delicous.
